I finally had the chance to drive the 2020 Camaro SS, and I must report that even with this ridiculous wing, I kinda love this car. (Also, I may or may not have done a burnout. Or three.)
As someone that tends to favor lighter, smaller vehicles with far fewer ponies than this 2020 Camaro SS, I honestly didn’t expect to like it. But there is something about 455 horsepower that quickly became hard to resist.
If you have a moment and want to check out my
review and road test
of this over-the-top Camaro SS, feel free to watch my new
vid below. :)

The only problem with 455 horsepower is that it's not 700+ horsepower.

Great audio production - lacking in way too many YouTube videos.

easily fixable

I feel like the Camaro is the best car no one talks about. No, it’s not as re fined or luxurious as a C63 or RS5 or M3, but you can take it out on a track and lay down similar (or better) lap times for hours and hours without it screaming uncle. It’s crude, but for the price, what more could you ask for? (don’t say sightlines....)

While maintaining the warranty?

I just have to say thank you for not adding a stupid arrow pointing to the car or having yourself in the thumbnail making a stupid expression, like we have no clue what the feature item of the video is.
I know it’s the trend for YouTubers and wannabes, but either of those two in the thumbnail earns it an automatic no-view f rom me. So, again, THANK YOU.

ZL-1 has a warranty. 650 is close enough, right?

Is it though? Is it?

Lingenfelter will give it 600 hp and a 3/36k warranty, but for the same ( or less) money you can get a 750 hp Roush Mustang GT.

H ow is it “crude”? It’s on the Alpha platform that gave BMW a few bloody noses in its various forms.

I think the old exterior was pretty divisive. The front end was really agro. I find the now 2020 car to be good looking, still aggressive but more palatable for me.
I’ll take a 2.0 with the 1le in the crazy orange or yellow...

Great review, and a great video, excellent production quality.
I've got a bunch of work travel in the next couple months, but when I come back I'm going to be in the market for an SS 1LE, most likely. Or possibly an ATS, the Camaro's 4 door Alpha platform sibling.

Now you're cooking with gas!

Regarding NVH and interior finishes , I’d call it crude. (again, it fits it’s price point)
The platform itself is extremely impressive. The GM engineers know how to make a car handle beautifully. Then the bean counters come in and do their thing......

S uch is the cost of performance. A C63 has the same basic interior as a C300, but it costs a lot more money. If it didn’t have the performance, it would get the same “this is way too cheap feeling for this price brakcet” complaints. I've never understood why cheap performance cars, particularly American ones, always got scrutinized for this more than others.

Ha! I might have done this in the past *looks around*

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for checking it out. I need to drive an ATS-V!

You’re welcome!
The ATS-V doesn't do it for me, tbh. If I get an ATS it will be a 2.0T with a stick, something that's fun but not as bonkers as the SS, and also pulls over 30 MPG.

Lol a $6000 wing option on a camaro?? I bet they will have like 2 takers. I love wings but carbon fiber is silly on a car like this where weight savings isn’t really needed. I mean its a big v8 car, its already not dieting.
If chevy had a $1500 plastic option I bet it would be popular.
Or just get one installed after the fact.

And still, outsold by Mustang... and Challenger.
Design matters. The 6th
gen Mustang is a looker.

I don’t disagree. the Mustang is no slouch in the performance department either.

Seems like the Camaro has the superior chassis/suspension, though.
I still want them to bring back the SS sedan based on the current SS (I know the ATS exists, but I want the V8).

Yep it’s insane. Actually $5495 to be exact but still. Bonkers. You get the look of the ZL1 without any of the capability.
